Encounter IV

New sweet reel from orvis.  Super lite weight and priced great.  I have not used the reel yet but it looks and feels like pure quality.  Going to mainly use this reel for carpin', and if i ever get around to salmon or steelhead fishing.  I really like this large arbor reel.  I might even pick up the smaller one for local stream fishing.

    Nice reel and great price! What kind and size line are you using on it? What size rod are you pairing with it?

      thanks manny, i am going to put this on my 7 wt orvis streamline. I have 7 wt weight forward heavy taper line on it. It is a low end setup but i feel i dont catch enough big fish to purchase a high end rod and reel that can handle them. This setup will be fine for the once in a while big fish i land....if i'm even that lucky! Might even use it as a bass rod as well.

    I think that's a good setup especially for a rod that you don't use at least once a week. I hope you don't break it on the Steelies!!!
