Personal best local brown on the fly

I landed a personal best local EB brown on the fly today.  What a beast of a hen brown.  It measured in at a 23.5" and guess weight would between 6-7 pounds.  This brown was thick with a nice fat belly. This is one to remember!

I put in a lot of time fishing today and was having zero success.  I was just about packing it in then this monster blasted my streamer. It came out about 2 feet straight up out of the water!  It was like something out of shark week.  It took me around 20-25 minutes to land this beauty on 4x tippet.  It hit a size 12 black streamer.  The rod that handled this fish was a 5wt helios 2 and the reel was a hardy 3000 DD.

I just wish i was able to take more pictures of it. My camera died right after this picture and my cell phone was in the car. This picture really doesn't do the brown any justice, it was an outstanding specimen.  Might be the second biggest brown ive personally caught. It was a blast landing this fish and seeing it released in perfect shape to spread those big brown genes.
